Thought Bite - Sense of Space - Logical Intelligence

The measurement is not only about centimeters and inches or finding the conversion. It is much more joyous than just converting inches to feet and centimeters and meters. 

The joy of measurement is in developing a sense of space. What does this mean?

We began by questioning why the dining table size is what it is? What makes it suitable for four people to dine? We measured the length and width of the dining table, measurements of the chair, size of the plate, the posture of eating, the space taken while eating, the convenient distance between two people while eating. We visually set up the table to understand the space.


The dining table was surrounded by chitchat about these measurements. Each one was busy measuring in their own style, some used centimeters, while some used feet and inches, some were confused, some were pondering.

The entire exercise was to explore space in the dining table.

First outdoor with different age kids. The goal was to explore “maths in Traffic”. We began by collecting data at two different signals. We counted vehicles,  categorized them like color, size, shape, brand, and so on.
